SHPE x Slack: Identity, Momentum, and Latinos in Tech ๐
Joined a SHPE x Slack panel at Salesforce to talk beyond job titles โ about identity, momentum, and what it means to keep going as Latinos in tech during a challenging moment for our community.

Joined a SHPE x Slack panel at Salesforce โ and I wanted to take a moment before sharing because many of us participated in the National Shutdown the following Friday for reflection and activism.
This panel went beyond job titles. We talked about identity, momentum, and what it means to keep going as Latinos in tech during a moment when our community is navigating a lot โ fear, exhaustion, uncertainty around immigration and safety. All of it is valid. All of it was present in the room.
The three pillars I kept coming back to:
- Building visible impact at Slack โ shipping work that matters and making sure it's seen
- Investing in community through Techqueria, Fuego, and professional development pods
- Staying honest about pivoting, growth, and advocating for advancement โ not performing resilience, but practicing it
Whether you're protesting, building power in tech, or simply enduring: all of it is valid. Professional success can be a form of leverage โ to protect families, create opportunities, and show up for others.
Grateful to the fellow panelists who created a space that didn't require anyone to shrink.
