Hosted a Notion Gente ERG networking event in San Francisco and I'm still feeling the energy from it. 🎉
Over 80 attendees showed up, and the feedback blew me away — 15 five-star reviews and, more meaningfully, people saying they felt "safe and included in the space" in ways they hadn't experienced at other tech networking events.
The evening included a panel discussion moderated by Monica Perez, with panelists Red A. and Francisco Cruz-Mendoza sharing their journeys. We talked about ERGs, what they can do (and can't do), and how to build real community within companies and beyond.
My favorite part? Watching people connect with each other — some learning about ERGs for the first time, others finally finding their people.
Events like this remind me why I keep pushing for in-person spaces for Latinx professionals in tech. My dream is still an in-person conference for our community, and gatherings like this one feel like a step in that direction.
